Hi Donbrew,
I tried the key fob method but the process gets stuck at the first front left lamp. The front left lamp lights and I deflate the tire to the point that it is completely flat then the horn sounds twice and disengages. How can I get the process to move beyond the first detection lamp??
BTW the discount tire device actually sets the manufacturer and then the model and year of the exact car before he moves to each tire. So it is designed to reset the 2008 chevy HHR while it detects all the tires it has problems activating the sensors so the dic light goes out. Oh and I understand you're the man to ultimately thank for the burping procedure. Thanks again. Also ot a little nervous today I drove the car for a whole day and at one point in town the temp got up to 226 but dropped back down to 217 steady before I got back home. Checked the levels before leaving this morning and when I returned but all the levels in the bottle and cap looked good after cooling.
Well then, you need to go to a dealer, there is a TSB for 2008 year. If it was a "fleet" car in a previous life that may have been turned off. The TSB applies in either case.
Before doing that though you should check the fuses for the RDO inside the car and the "cigarette lighter" under the hood.
Car continues to run hot so I ran the engine block test, compression test and pressure test again and everything checks out well.
Question: I went back and looked at the original water pump that was removed from the hhr
Original water pump
and I noticed that the new pump has a different type of blade. Would that make a difference in how the pump would function? New pump with metal open blades
Hmmm.... That seems like it might not be as efficient as the original at moving the coolant where it's supposed to go. I've only seen pics, though, see what the others say.
