HHR with Carseats Vs. Hyundai Elantra
I am looking at getting a 2010 HHR LT. Big reason we are getting a different car is our 2006 Hyundai Elantra has almost no legroom in passenger front seat with rear facing carseat behind it. I did some research and showed that the front legroom of the HHR is about 2.5-3.0" less than Elantra, but back seat legroom is about 5" more than the Elantra. My question is how have people with large rear facing carseats fared with the HHR? Is it something that would be worth gettin, or would the space not actually increase very much in the HHR LT?

Your best bet, take the car seat with you and stick it in that 2010 HHR and see for yourself.
My kids are grown past car seats, so I can't say how it would fit.
The HHR is a small car, test fitting with your seat would be the Best option.
Or just hit up any local dealer with an HHR on the lot and test fit.
'06-'11 are all the same size wise.

Welcome to the site tbrass84. Sounds like you are married to the car seat, must be a nice one, the child never cry's when in it ? I'd take A&P's advice, take it along with you see how it fits, better hurry we are running out of HHR's.

Car seats seem to fit well in the HHR. Placing the rear facing seat in the middle of the backseat seems to work well for preserving space. I've got two booster in ours now and have plenty of room.

Just remember that you can't use the LATCH system if you place it there! You have to use the seatbelt to hold the seat in if you choose the middle spot, at least that's how it was with the 06 I had.
