HHR LS Swap Rat Rod
#482
I do like the idea of fender well headers!! That would definitely look sweet. After I get the body and interior all nice and finished, it's time for an LS, or maybe even an LT swap, depending on funds. Whatever goes in there, is gonna have a turbo setup. A lot of people will use the factory manifolds, and just swap them side to side. I think since I'm gonna have so much room behind the engine, I'll run all my piping out the back, and mount the turbo back in all the open space.
My little brother picked up a '16 Camaro 1LE. It's pitting 670HP to the rear wheels, thanks to a supercharger. Beatrice needs to be able to keep up

Once I get the turbo setup on there, I'm gonna have to make a new intake. I want to continue the "bomb" theme, so I'm thinking 2 smaller "tomahawk missiles", mounted on the square tubing, about midway.

Made some progress the last couple of days. The Indy car race was here in Nashville yesterday, went to a buddy's place to watch it. Back at it today. Yesterday I pressure washed everything. Beatrice sits out in the weather year round, and there was plenty of evidence Also got the steel bumper welded to the frame with some 1/4" flat plate wedges. Bumper cover uses 4 bolts, through to the metal bumper. Since I cut so much off the ends, it has good rigidity being mounted to the bumper.
Got everything taped off, and went to town with the flat black.
I think its a big improvement!! The flat black should help hide things like that big ass ugly box Haven't taken any pictures, but I was able to bolt the "cowl" back into its original places, with the hood hinges. Only the back holes were available, I'll figure something out for the front if I find its necessary. The front of the cowl will have a steel support off the square tubing. Im gonna find some thing guage steel, and weld a piece at 90* along the front of the hood. I'll use this lip for supports and a latch. Break is over, hope everyone is having as good a Monday as one can have.
