How did you know the word I had used? I've been viewing some pictures with them on and they DO look beatchin (smile) but they seem to cut down on seeing out the window. Do they? I would want a dark or smoke gray color.

Hey, Chris, I found several pictures of them over in the photos section (after posting here). But even above, jx3's blue HHR shows them. They add a finished look for sure but with all the mods I have planned, might be over-kill (can't decide whether I want to to make mine murdered-out or fancy with lots of chotchkies).

For the items I'm comparing, so far the best prices come from AutoTruckToys.com but I'm just beginning my comparisons. They have good pictures and descriptions also, unlike Auto Zone.
I hear ya on figure out what way you want to roll... I think sometimes the "less is more" meathodology is right.

I like the dark smoke ones.. But I prefer the In-Channel ones, they look cleaner imo..They fit in the window tract.& glue in w/ 3M self adhesive.

As opposed to the ones that glue ON the outside of doors.

As to cutting down on visability, I am used to them.. & would not go with out.. I have had them on my last 3 vehicles..
I just ordered my in channels off ebay... best price I could find. Dark smoke and in channel

i have a pair on my S10 and dig em.
i'd LIKE to get a set for my hhr, but would prefer it were a 1/4 panel (for a cleaner look), but also if a guy were to color match the vents, it'd give the car a chopped look

Chris-

Yep, that's what I paid for my AVS* made by Lund in-channels !!

Anyone need a rear set ? Having a Panel only needs the fronts..(obviously).. LOL

bowtieboy68-

Yes I suppose painting them would look kinda chopped.. Then a sunvisor.

Don't ever buy a white HHR without running boards. Rear fender and rocker panels always filthy. And I haven't been thru a snow season yet.

Add me to the cup holder list ... waaaay to shallow, and spills much too easy, especially with a lowered suspension.

My real biggest gripe is the god awful shifting, I'm used to VWs and being able to shift with my pinky as well as putting it into 5th at 40km/h with no problem at all.

A few other things that really annoy me are the automatic door locks, auto headlights and having to stop, set the parking brake and go into the DIC to switch from KMH to MPH.

Just little things that annoy me, but not worth complaining about

Why is the location of the power window switches not on this?

At least the cup holders are within reach.

The radio antenna is part of the retro look and I like it.

I loved her -- but we just had to break up

It's been two weeks now, and I'm finally ready to admit that I traded in my 2006 Silver HHR LS for a 2013 Champagne Equinox LT. I know I broke her heart when I left her at the dealership, but I had to do something or she was going to leave me on the side of the road. She was carrying 175,000 very hard miles with only 3 wheel-covers. The keyfob that the dealership gave us in 2007 never did work right, so I've spent the past six years listening to my car honk while I unlock her in the grocery store parking lot (there is not enough money on the planet to pay a valet in these situations).
The cloth seats had gone through their third set of seat covers because that terrible grey just highlighted any moisture that came their way. The persistent shimmy in the front end that peaked between 60 and 65 mph made everybody miserable except my chiropractor.

But, the straw that broke them camel's back over the last 5 years????
The lovely HHR tendancy to have the shifter switch break so the key has to be removed by pushing the button under the steering wheel. I did that for so long I have a callus on my finger. I continue to be amazed that Chevy was never responsible enough to do a simple recall and fix that problem.

My new car does not look as cool --- the awe factor is a sacrifice. If they still made the HHR, I would have considered buying one because I really did love that car! Just wish someone could explain to me while she never did get much over 25-27 mpg and Eleanor Equinox (which is much larger) gets consistently over 28mpg.

I have owned two of the coolest cars on the market --- a 2006 HHR and a 1966 Mustang --- and it broke my heart when I gave each of them up.

I wish those of you well who have the patience and deep pockets to keep one of these stunning beauties on the road.
