HHR prices that make you LOL....
my 07 1LT 2.2L was listed for 17K back in 2008 when i bought it. we talked the dealer down to 13.5k after it was all said and done. it had been on their lot for months and we both knew that. but 3 k down and financed just over 11k with tax and stuff
Newbie!
Just purchased my 08 LS last night from the cutest little old lady. She dosen't have a licence and has never driven a day in her life. She purchased it new so that her boyfriend could drive her around in it because she thought it was cute! I has 37,000 miles on it, was garaged and pampered from day one. I got it for $9,000. Black and Basic and I love it just as much as she did!!!!
Last fall I was looking at a black SS and with 38k on the clock they were asking $19,500 for it. Trade in value on my truck would have been around $23k My SS that I just purchased had 48k on the odo, asking price of $18,400 and my truck only fetched $19,500.
The cost of fuel is affecting the cost of vehicles. But at least I made out on the plus side. Never had a dealer OWE me money before.

Before I got my '09 2LT new (paid $17,000 after discounts and incentives w/ every option put black chrome and DVD's) I saw a grey '08 with 32,000 and they wanted $8,600. I thought that was more than reasonable. Almost bought it.
My 09 LS, 19,350 sticker. Got the supplier discount, 4,500 Obama Cash for clunkers on my 92 Explorer, 3,500 in GM rebates, and 1,000 GM card earnings. Ended up paying 9,530 for a new car. It was just a basic LS, with the auto tranny. I went in and asked to see the cheapest HHR they had that had an auto tranny, and wasn't black. Mine is Cardinal Red. It had been on the lot over 6 months and qualified for an additional 1,000 rebate. This was when GM was going under and doing anything to move vehicles. It has been a great car, with no trouble. I wanted a hatchback like my old Explorer so I could haul things and it has done the job great. Still only has 14,000 miles on it, but we are beginning to take it on more longer trips because it gets the best mileage of anything we own.
WOW, just reading this thread and finding out the discontinued the HHR
