Hhr purple wiring harness near battery identification?

Hello,

I just bought a 2010 hhr and I recently had issues which turned out to be a bad battery I believe, its voltage was at 9 volts and now its ran down after trying to start it. Luckily im just working on it as a second vehicle for my family. While checking out the battery I noticed a purple delphi wiring harness that was unhooked.

What is this harness?

Thanks for the replies

Ok , i cannot imagine why itd be disconnected, and I can only wonder what problems this would cause in general. Can anyone enlighten me. Im replacing the bad battery today, the one that went bad only had 490 cold cranking amps. Im going to get one with 600cc amps.

I don’t know why it’s disconnected , just showing you what it could be connected to.

The current sensor controls the charge rate of the alternator. Result: dead battery.

Somebody probably thought it was a useless piece of plastic.

Not sure, some type of information should be relayed to the BCM .
Did you look again to see if the current sensor is in fact unplugged?

Yes it was unplugged, i plugged it back in a day or two ago but the battery was already drained so I couldnt start it to see how it positively affected the charging system. When i bought this mechanic special it needed some new rims, they were bent from getting curbed on the left side. It also had loose fuses amd relays which corroborates the electrical issues the previous owner sold it for. Runs great otherwise, especially with new wheels and tires and solid fuse contact, before the owner had intermittent dash light issies and was really unclear what it was doing, just was acting up and a mechanic told him it was the computer of course.
