HHR's at cruz-in and car shows-welcome or not
I love those wheels with the red panel. Don't change a thing! If you do want to turn them loose, hit me up! I want some.
The ss wheels are sweet (duh) but the factory spokes garagebuilt is running are BOSS! From a G6 or cobalt? otherwise hang on to those stockers. Nothing else really compares IMO, Most of the customs wheels end up looking cheap

Whenever I got to one, I'm almost always told I can't display an original, low-mileage, rare HHR. I was told once that there are no categories for newer (2005+) Chryslers.
Ce la vie.
Ce la vie.
I have been on Both sides.
I'd Show the '55 Chevy Bel Air 2 Door Hard Top and even way back then, there were Always Brand New cars sitting in the show. 20 Plus years ago.
It is Nothing new in the car show arena.
Once I have my HHR Panel up to my standards, you bet your a** I will Show it. And will SHOW it with Pride.
Will it be a bone Stock HHR Panel, NO it won't be.
I do feel sorry for guys who put hours upon hours even Years restoring their cars and then a fairly new 100% Stock family car actually Wins something. I can see why they get a little upset.
Just because you wash and wax your DD car don't make it a "Show Car" by any means, it just means you wash and wax your car . It takes More effort than that to be a show class car.
Is mine a "show class car"? Not yet, but I am working on it. I haven't taken it to a car show either, besides leaving it out in the outside lot for parking.
And walking into the show with my camera.
I do take it out to a couple nite spots that some street cars show up at on Friday and Saturday nites and a Wednesday nite gathering at a A&W/Long John Silvers parking lot and will walk around BS'in with other car enthusiasts. I do Not enter it in any of the catagories, just go for the food and fun.
Now once my HHR is Complete, Then I will start entering it. But not until it is.
I don't really care about winning anything at all, I like the fun of just hangin out.
And I Love a car show with a large vendor turn out (Restoration Parts) and parts swap meet. (Tri Chevy) My Father and I would go to the Peotone,IL. Tri Chevy Car Show and Swap Meet every year, and just hang out together looking at CARS, or looking for Parts. Looked forward to it every year with my Dad.
I missed it this year, it was June 12th.
I Miss my Dad alot.

Just for the fun of it I entered my HHR in a couple of shows the first summer I owned it. I parked with friends that had more "classic" rides but both shows were open to all years vehicles (one being an all Chevy show and one was for all American trucks). I even made up a nice window sign detailing what the SS HHR is all about. The organizers of both events showed their appreciation for my attendance and seemed to really like the car but on the whole it was mostly ignored by everyone else. I may take it to some cruise-ins in the future (although the one nearest me is so far restricted to pre-'72 only) but I doubt I'll be entereing it in any more shows.
If it is a show and shine type of event, I would think that you should certainly be welcome. If the show is for classics or muscle cars, leave it in the parking lot. I get a lot of positive comments about my HHR but, it is not what I would take to many shows. I would like to attent a G2G for HHR's sometime though.
