It's been a hit and miss, your either welcomed or completely ignored or told you can not be part of the show.

Anything at a car show is ok...so long as its not a newer vette (1975+). Everyone and their damn mother brings those to freaking car shows...pisses me off.

re

i've done a few down here - show and shine type - not real "rod/custom" show,i would never drag either of my cars to those but at our beach and downtown "park and polish" shows my Pontiac WS6 draws a nice crowd cause it is "winner" with trophies in the trunk - the SS parked next to it on the other hand is not ignored but ceratinly is no head turner - it draws more of a curious crowd - im surprised how many people are not aware it was offered in a "SS" package - thats the biggest comment i get but overall its welcomed with open arms at those kind of shows - i mean comon there are stock civics with a coffee cans parked in the crowd

I once went to a cruise night, parked next to an early 50's Chevy pickup. I thought it would be a nice before-after comparison. Guy jumps in his truck and moves it. I mostly take mine to promote my product.

Just wondering the age of these guys that everybody encounters? It seems it's always a old guy that forgot where he came from . . .the same ones that hate kids, hate people walking in front of their houses, summer, ect.. There are some people that just look for a reason to be grumpy, and some of these grumps go to carshows. There is almost always one on every block. poor souls.

I will be 60 in just a few short days.
I have a very high tolerance for any car owner that likes their car. If the car does not appeal to me, I just walk on by. There is no need to denegrate anyone for their taste in what they choose to drive or enjoy.

The biggest problem I see at carshows is parents who don't keep control of their kids.
At one show I watched as some 5-6 yr. old kid came walkin' up to a 32' street rod and tries to get in !! the owner ( a older man ) nearly came unglued ! He yells at at kid, kid starts crying, the parrents come up and he yells at them.
But most of the car owners are Kool as long as you respect the rides & treat them like priceless works of art .
but yes alot of them are older couples retired mostly. because they have more time on their hands . )

Todays show consisted of being largely ignored, and in several instances confusing the heck out of a few people...... They thought they had suddenly been transported to the parking lot. I even watched a few people get out of their dented dirty HHR in the parking lot and walk right by mine, looking for the show cars.

"mine's just like that....."

"Sure it is"

Didn't help much being at the end of a line parked next to a '77 Dodge Aspen (not that there's a lot of these left in existence, mind you.......) there were much worse there, so it's cool. Right after I got there a 32 Yellow Ford and a Rat Rod came in and parked on the other side of me, I thought that was cool. Then they left...... not moved. They left completely. :|

A couple of compliments though, one guy said "Damn! I didn't know one of these could look this good. Great job!"

Dash plaques for the first 50 registered....... My number?
