Forgot about that tax thing. I was in the army at Fort Braggs NC in 1972 and bought a used car (68 Camaro) and learned that I didn't have to pay sales tax since it was a used car and tax is only paid when it is new. I live in Ohio and you have to pay sale tax on a car no matter how many times it is sold and bought. Comments on this about the States you guys live in?

In Kentucky we pay tax on the differance of the trade each time it is sold. If no trade, we pay the bill of sale price. We also pay tax on it each year when we tag it. Vehicles in KY are taxed to death. May be why we see so many sitting on the side of the road.

Should of said that in Ohio the value of our trade in is deducted from the new car price (or used car if we are buying used) and then we get taxed on the remainder. Don't pay any tax like you do in Ky when we get new plates (or renewal stickers that go on the plate).

Here is a pic standing on a corner in Winslow Arizona

I just had to stop.

SUCH a fine sight to see ! LMAO

My HHR started life as a bone stock 2007 LS Hertz rental. Picked it up in 2008 with 10,000 miles on it for $11,000.00. 72,000 miles later and still loving it.

Mine was a rental out of Kentucky with 8040 miles when I test drove it. Wy wife's had 9337 when we drove it. Hers was a GM Certified and didn't thinkto pull a Carfax. I traded in a 93 Corolla with over a 180,000 and it was a Budget rental. Some one left something in the glove box they shgouldn't have. My last new car was a 77 Audi Fox.

Both of our HHR's were rentals. One from Texas and the other from the South San Francisco (CA) bay area. Each had around 13,500 miles on them. Both build dates in May of 2011.

Smile HHR purchase

I purchased my 2011 HHR from a rental agency with 32,000 miles and have been pleased with the vehicle and I purchased it for a fair price.
