I'm at 145,000 and just changed the fuel pump. I replaced clutch at about 125,000. Both fun jobs, not for the weak at heart.
I have changed the front lower control arms twice. Those torsion bushings, bearing? just dont last. You can tell you get the nortious thumping on the bottom of the car. Same time new struts, sway bar bushings, link arms and front hubs. Engine wise not much I have had to replace both VVT solenoids.
I still have the infamous electric power steering clunk. I thought about getting one out of a junk yard, but with that no guarentee and a new one is like $350.00 going to just live with it.
Overall has been a good car but has required to much maintanance. Fortunately I could do it myself, but if I had to pay a mechanic whoo boy.

my 2007 HHR
2nd owner bought at 48K. I just turned 118465, no major problems, need to replace struts ,control arms, rear shocks. have done brakes, thermostat, turn signal switch, exhaust flex pipe, tires, routine maint. Have known what was going bad by the information I read about on the site.Only hassle is the "L/R" exterior mirror switch ,keeps going bad. any suggestions.

This thread finally got me to join.
Read through first 6 or so pages. You guys make me feel good.
2006 bought new off lot.
148k(?)
Font brakes (Don't think I did the rears)
Power steering motor (on recall, was ready to do it myself)
Broken shifter/ignition (DIY hacked a fix. Yup, know its a recall)
Broken door handle (swapped with rear door)
2.5 sets of tires
HVAC blower motor, resistor, and the cowling leak DIY fixed.
Plugs @130K (which the old ones looked GREAT)
Serpentine belt @148K
Oil changes between 75%-50% (usually around 60-65%) 12K seems a bit of a stretch.
Radiator flush, hoses and t-stat @ around 80k
A few air filters.
Garage kept.
Needs some front end work. And tranny seems to be acting funny at light loads around 40MPH, in and out of gear or torque converter lock/unlocking.
So nothing major.
I've really like this car (an first one I spent more then $500 on
)
Its been a really good econo-box. I also LOVE that the rear windows go ALL the way down!
edit: Oh have the fuel gauge issue, but that additive every oil change seems to keep it happy. (I *really* do not want to drop the tank) But still watch my miles.

190k km
Ss panel original owner daily driver.
The van has been trouble-free in its first seven years say. Before I blew the third cylinder I replaced the lower control arms drive shaft and wheel bearing on the driver side . Evap solenoid cam actuators and most of the fuel line. I did a bunch of bolt ons and HP tuner. After I replace the Rings or engine I hope to get another two hundred thousand kilometers.

Just picked up a 2007 with 215000. Everything was working but the remote which my local Chevy dealer installed a $25 kit into to fix. Engine Check says 744 I think. Which indicates a Torque Converter lockup problem. There was another EC indicating a problem with the gas tank purge valve which has been fixed. I don't notice any drivability problems so holding off on fixing the torque converter problem for a while. It has a bit of the Northern Illinois Cancer problem around the door edges and behind the plastic running boards but still looks good from a distance
While all these high mileage testimonies are cool. This one is impressive:

2006 HHR brought new from the dealer
I also had a 1954 chevy pickup truck.
The HHR is a spin off of the ole school suburban
137K and still running STRONG- I drove that ***** again today! I have other rides like many on this site. I use my HHR mainly for highway travel= because of the GREAT gas mileage.
I have changed many things: fuel pump-solenoids -brakes-lower control arms & ball joints-computer-oil cooler seals & converted to external cooler- covered hole that leaks water into cabin-battery-lights-used mobile 1 oil from day 1-thermostat.
I would like to sell it and get the CADILLAC ats witch uses a similar motor- it is just made in a much more user friendly & repairably way. Front mounted motor & rear drive. 2.5 4 cylinder no turbo.
