KYB is the way to go in my book. Just did that to a 2011 LS w/ 90K.
You can lift the front a bit by using Malibu struts. 2012 I think? You'd need to research it a bit. I can help if ur interested.

My 2009 2.2L HHR has 438,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. Rebuilt the front suspension 3 times. One starter and a few Transmission solenoids. Every thing else was normal repairs.
2007 2.2L HHR. 175,905 miles. Only had it 6 months. This one has the Malibu strut and rims from 2012.

Hello! I got lucky, and a friend of a friend Randomly messaged me that I've only met in person once, and randomly asked if I like HHRs? Haha... So anyway --
$500! 265,000 miles! No rust, and skyrocketing car prices, so why not!!
So the story starts, and I'm in 15,000 miles (280,000 now) and 2 years... I will also add that I'm pretty sure I got lucky and this car was always high end/dealership maintained. So for $500 and no rust, and then discovering that in paper work and stickers, not bad! Haha Assuming a lot of problems already fixed. And hitting bumps is very mild compared to typical expectations with HHRs.
Something about the windshield needed replaced twice. Could have been installer error, but I wonder lol...
When I first got it, the heater/fan didn't work. My mechanics checked it out, and ended up finding ice in the blower, so had a crazy heater pointed in the passenger side for an hour. Presto ! -- worked like a charm for a year.
Upon research here in this website, there's a perfect passage of water that Sneaks into the car from below the windshield and goes Magically, Right into the blower just above the passengers feet.. Still need to fix it (all the details are here, as well as a YouTube), but I went ahead and just replaced the blower a year ago. So buying some time on that tedious water fix (leaks onto floor always on heavy rains... Can be dried out somewhat simple if you blast the floor heaters,.sometimes also a towel...)
Control arm went bad in 2 years, completely trashed. I don't drive crazy either. Calipers trashed. Still a squeaking/rattling coming from the front right tire after new breaks, rotors, and calipers, so no idea on that... Just skipped that and called it good.
Lots of rattling evolved underneath. About a month ago, had the mechanic look around and tighten anything they could find. They're great, but since then, rattling came back about 40%.
About 2 months ago, have to re-press brake kind of hard or at least a few times to get out of park. Also 2 months ago, once in a while I have to hold the brake in Reverse (not wanting to move yet), to give it a bit of gas to click into reverse sorta harsh... But not in drive like I explained (even though there's the brake-click-out-of-park thing). It doesn't leak, but might change trans fluid and filter... Might do reading in here first...
None of the back window buttons work, and only the down-lock button on the passenger side works, which happened to help me in the sense my clicker is finicky,.Plus I dislike the car horn hitting lock on the clicker, so if I hit down-down (2 times), it locks and doesn't honk to wake people up or tell them "I'm worried".
Most the buttons on steering wheel don't work either. Luckily cruise works.
Think that's about it. Regular oil changes. Windshield wipers good, fluid comes out good. Back door and all doors work well. Stereo is Awesome like most (I realize some have issues...hate to hear that...).

100k coming up for a third time just picked up this 2010 LS Panel. Super clean body but a LOT of miles. Funny thing is i think its quieter then the 2011 LS i just sold with just over a hundred thousand on the odo. Got it cheap enough if i have to do an engine its still worth it.
