I DROVE MINE FOR 130,000 MILES WITH NO MAJOR ISSUES AND TRADED IT AWAY IN 2013. CHEVY DID NOT HAVE A REPLACEMENT VEHICLE AND i WENT TO THE COMPETITION HYUNDAI TUCSON.

2011 2.2 LT. Bought it at 109,000…..did chains and guides and water pump right off, needed it bad. Now have 220,000 plus. Be time to do it again soon.
The dreaded shift soleniod…1st and 4th solenoid….major job but do-able.

 

First post. I just bought a 2010 LS 2.2 automatic with 108k, runs great and everything works, no CEL, no body rust, no major rust beneath. I'm psyched, cool ride. Black mini-gangster wagon. Runs very smooth except maybe a slight miss at idle, I'll have to check live data and spark plugs.

 

Welcome to the group! Keep the oil changed regularly and it should last forever. Got my 2006 with 95,000 miles and now it has just over 206,000 miles. These things are fun to drive and have lots of room for a small vehicle. You will probably run into a few minor problems but you are in the right place for answers.

Cleaning the MAF sensor and throttle body can have a remarkable effect on smooth running. I get a couple or three uses out of this little $10 kit.

 

thanks good point. Interesting the battery is in the rear on these. Keeps it very clean and cool. I bet there is a bit of crud in the throttle body by 109k, records indicate it's never been cleaned.

What a sweet vehicle.

 

Combine that with the battery management system and a high-quality OE battery, and you get ridiculous life. I'm still using the original battery from a 2011 (albeit in another application.) Edit - gave it to a friend to use in an 09 Malibu.

 

I have a 2007 2.2l LT current mileage 151,000. An 8 month pregnant me bought this car on the way to my baby shower (traded my '02 Firebird TA). My son and my HHR both turned 17 this year! Hard to believe that the same car that brought him home from the hospital is the same car he just took his driving test in. Ive Replaced brakes and alternator a few years back. Lost track of how many bulbs I've replaced, both headlights and tail lights. About to change the thermostat and do a flush...first one (oops) I know, I know...but, HOW BOUT THAT DEX-COOL!!
