Hitch Recommendations

Question for everyone in here with a hitch. Did you install yourself and if so where did you buy? I've seen some people mention eBay but not sure of quality or which one members trust.

I purchased a Curt hitch for mine from e-Bay. I purchased the kit that had the ball, wiring, etc. Installed myself in an afternoon. Takes a little while if it is your first one (it was my first). I took my time, took a few hours.

Great investment, really like the Curt hitch. Well built.

I have the Hidden Hitch and it works well. You can install it yourself as long as you have a way you can get the back end of the car to clear the muffler. The wiring harnes is just a plug in. You have to drill one hole for the ground.

I have the Hidden Hitch, been on since 2006, no issues at all with it. Can't remember where I got it. One person can install like I did, but it would be easier with 2+.

I put a Curt hitch on mine. Bought it from Amazon with free 2 day shipping. (Prime Member)

And I installed it myself, pretty easy to do. Bought the wiring kit as well all plug and play.

Youtube has HHR hitch install videos if you need to see it done but it is a Simple install.

I went with the Curt rather than the HiddenHitch/Drawtite.
The curt seemed to have a better/thicker paint.
Slightly more $ though.

If you are at all handy I'd recommend installing it yourself.
There are better things to spend $100 on.

I understood from a previous thread that one of the two types was more visible from the rear and hung down more. Can someone with each type post what they look like from straight on from the rear.?
