Question How do I release seat belt retractor?

I bought a Rear seat and seat belts, I am installing them and one of the seat belt retractors rolled all the way up.

Now I can't get it to UNroll so I can install it.

Any tips or Tricks to unroll it?

Thanks

It's position sensitive, there's a little weight that locks the belt. it's there to lock the belt when you brake hard. Try pivoting the retractor around the mounting bolt.

I got one side installed and the trim pieces back in place on that side.

I am holding this on here at my desk, it rolled up while I was installing the other one and it was laying on the carpoet, there is maybe a qaurter inch of play and I have been pulling and tugging on it but it won't release out.

Thanks

Still stuck?

Try shaking it, if that doesn't work then you'll have to pull the cover off and release the ratchet mech.

VERY Frustrating for sure.

I was messing with it for a good 20 minutes before I said, Don't toss it on your concrete driveway, you just paid $35.00 for it! lol

25 years ago I was a body and fender / auto painter for about 12 years.

They used to have Release access like a tiny hole you could push a dental pick in and just pull the belt out freely, I kept looking for something.

Just saw "warnings" on both sides NOT to open.

Stopped myself and came inside sat down played with it some more and Finally it released so I could pull out some lenght.

Hot and HUMID out, gonna rain too later, so I wanted to get it all back together.

I just gotta finish bolting the rear seat in and place the tray in back.

Thanks again for the input.
