How I avoided selling the panel

I would like to thank ALL posters here for the "how to's" regarding the back seat mod in panels! I was about to lose the fight and have to get a more "family friendly" vehicle, when I pitched the rear seat modification. (can anybody say hail mary pass?)

Found parts locally (seat, belts, rear storage box, some hardware - missing some hardware and did not come w/headrests) $450 all in. 2 hrs with a Bissel handheld - smelled like crap - and a Sunday morning install later and I have the family friendly vehicle!

I have 4 yo triplets, and if anyone is wondering:

Thanks again, you guys rock!

Cool beans! Glad you found what you needed here to make your Panel into a people mover.

Grear that you were able to convert the Panel into a people-mover, Eric - but I am wondering if the HHR is really going to suit your needs with 3 growing boys? Do you have another vehicle? If the HHR is your 'back-up' kid hauler, you're OK, but if not, you are going to need something a bit bigger real soon.....

Thanks for the concern Krash! Main vehicle is a dreaded foreign minivan. Previously when she had to travel, i got that and she took the panel. I hated driving the minivan, she hated driving the "hearse". Win/win

That's great 'cause once you get a Panel you hate to get rid of it. We are going to add the rear seat to ours but just haven't got around to it yet. Plus we live in such a remote area that we are going to have to travel a fair distance to get everything we need.

Prod - They ask everyday if I can drive them.

RV - Great mod to do. Well worth it and suprisingly easy (with an impact driver, that is)

Krash - BTW - triplet GIRLS... I'm surrounded by estrogen...
