how much for a starter for chevy hhr

I own 2007 chevy hhr L4 with 2.0L engine, started fine this morning but didn't start this afternoon.

I checked it's full charged and the connection is also good.

Who can explain this problem ?

I guess it's failed, after all it is very old.

If so,how much for a starter for chevy hhr ? The cheapest hhr starter I find online is $45 with free shipping.

I don't learn much about my car,so ask such stupid questions.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Welcome. There can be a wide range on the price of a starter. $45 is a good price. Best bet is to take off the old one 1st and have it tested before buying a new one.
FWIW. Your engine is not a 2.0L. The 2007's had either a 2.2 or 2.4 engine. Make sure to use the correct info if shopping for parts.

Is it doing anything? Clicking or cranking slow? If it's cranking slow then yes you probably need a new starter as the solenoid is probably bad. These days no one replaces the solenoid anymore, just the entire starter. If it's clicking it could be a power issue. When you tested the battery how many volts was it? How old is your battery? Even a 3 or 4 year old battery can go bad and cause starting and other issues. When you say the connection is good did you test the voltage under the hood and at the starter?

If it's not doing anything and you have dash lights and everything else is powered it could be a bad starter relay.

I replaced my starter a couple of years ago with a Napa rebuilt. I think it was about $125.00. Its really easy to replace, but the top bolt is a little bit of a pain to get started.

I know. But who knows what happened, maybe he got sick and couldn't come back to it for a while?
