i hate silverstars

every set i have ever bought at least one has burned out within 6 months. i dont touch the bulbs and do everything extremely carefully. sure they are brighter but its cheaper to buy oem bulbs and the original set on my car lasted until last fall. im just tired of it

I have heard mixed reviews, both for and against silverstars. I drive around 12,000 kilometers a month, and silverstars seem to last about 3-4 months for me. So i guess it depends on how many miles u put on but 6 months is longer than what I am seeing.

Whats a pain more than the silverstars, is getting access to the headlights to change the bulbs. What a dumb set-up.

We had the same experience in some of our other cars Kevin. We just gave up on them.

I have been going to upgrade. I see so many complain about a short life and see so little on long life compliments. But as with everything else if nothing is wrong no one post and the minority becomes the vocal majority.

I may try them this spring.

Have not got them for my HHR yet - but I had the same set in a Mazda pickup - then in two Sebrings (that's right - same bulbs in three different cars) absolutely love them.

None of them had Daytime running lights though....
