I have had the same problem with Silverstars. That is why I haven't bought them for my HHR. Can't get 6 months out of them.

I would think there are a lot of things that can factor into the life of the bulbs themselves... The smoothness of the ride, seal quality around the bulb, climate the vehicle is driven in, and quality control at factory just to mention a few...

Personally I had two different sets I installed in my '93 Eldorado and another in a '00 Grand Prix. They both were working great when I sold them and the Eldo had at least 2 years and 50K miles on her... I wouldn't hesitate to buy another set from my experience.

I have had great luck with them....had them on every car I have owned for about 10 years now. I seem to get an average of about 2-3 years out of them.

What got me was the steps required on the HHR just to access the damn things.

%^$#@ auto companies and their never ending quest to make it all but impossible for the owner to do anything to their vehicle.

I have some pics in my gallery with the silverstars on but they probably cant be used very well as comparison pics. (not straight on or "down the road" pics) My lenses are pitted to hell from all my highway driving so the light coming through now isnt as good as it was in the past anyways. I would say the silverstars are definitely a good buy though, its a night and day difference over the stock bulbs.

I'd agree with them being worth it....not as bright as HID's but, as close as you can get and they don't cost 200 plus $$$$$$

Well I bit the bullet last night and went full tilt: bought the H13's, H11's and 3157 turns. I figure worst case: they come w/ the 1yr warranty so I can go that route if they blow out (the packaging DOES say they don't last as long as standard bulbs since they're 'high-performance' bulbs). Going to be installing them in the F/E headlights I'm putting in this weekend!!

Later
