iPod PAL
iPod PAL
I bought a used '08 SS and it has the iPod PAL installed. I cannot get the regular XM stations to work other than XM1 that has the iPod on it. Anyone have any idea how to get the additional XM stations to work>?
I moved this post from the 9 year old thread to it's own thread.
Here is a link that may be useful: http://www.kawal.net/palfaqs.htm
See #15 ,I think that is exactly your situation.

ch up/ch down isn't the same? How do you change presets on the steering wheel? Just pretend the up is marked 6 and the down is marked 1. Or, vice-versa.
That was just the first link I got from GoOgle "ipod pal" there are many others and other search phrases.

Not to sound dumb, but do you have a paid up XM subscription ? I only get that one XM1 channel because I never paid for the service after my new car free trial period. My account is shown as inactive.
I can scroll through the channels when they have one of those free trial offers every now and then. But that's the only time the different channels show.
Point being, if you're not paid up or XM doesn't have your account active, then you won't have the XM channels showing when in XM mode.(except that 1)
Granted, I don't know anything about this iPod PAL or what it does, so disregard my post if it's not relevent.

I have never had an iPod,Xm,Sirius or steering wheel control. The OM does say something about using the mute button to scroll through the XM presets.
I don't think The PAL was an official option on HHR. (WRONG! it rolled out HHR only) A few of the GoOgle results are for Cobalt with pictures of the same steering wheel controls the HHR has.
Here is a youtube with an HHR Dealer install. It does not go into XM2 though.

Do you have the shark fin? Have you looked behind the quarter panel trim (right side, I think) to make sure the unit is still there? Do you have an OnStar button on the mirror?
Just because the radio has a CAT button does not mean the module is or ever was in the car.
