Thumbs up It's a beautiful day for a road trip

It's clear and warm outside my window, not a cloud in the sky. It's time to polish up the HHR and do a road trip. How about going up old Highway 65 to Bishop's Pumkin Farm (www.webpumpkins.com) between Rocklin and Marysville in Northern Calif. If it sounds like a plan I will see you there.

Let's see.....it's been raining all week (we needed it), but the sun is out. I have paint scraping to do today. I will need to spend tomorrow on the lawn as I can hear it growing now that the sun is warming things up. The highlight of the weekend will be watching game # 2 between the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians tonight.

I was going to enter sebastian in a local car show today, but the rain changed my plans. Oh well we need the rain so that's OK. I hope you enjoy your drive and be safe.

This sounds like it would be fun, the kids would love it. I just checked outside and my wife took Fiji to school with her instead of taking the other car. She isn't out until 5 pm so it looks like we won't be going today. If you don't make it today let me know and we can maybe meet up there next Sat. We usually go to the Book family farm but to be honest it is kind of a drag after your first time there, so this place looks like it might be worth the hour or so drive.

We went to the Farm yesterday. It was a beutiful day. My daughter is learning to drive so this was a big trip for her. I learned that she doesn't have a clue what road signs mean. I had brought the book "Truck, a love story" by Michael Perry which is really great read and just looked at it a little. "Hey, did you see the Highway 70 sign?" "No, why?" "I told you to get off on hwy 70" "I didn't see it." "It's only 20 feet long and hangs over the freeway twice before the exit." "I don't think it was there." Oh, well we'll just go on to Yuba City/Marysville and hit 70 there and make a circle. I t was a nice day for a ride. Then we get to my brother inlaws and she is telling everybody I got LOST. The farm billed as bigger and better and acutally was. The rain had dampened the dust down and only a few mud puddles one had a two year old sitting in it splashing with the mom standing there laughing. A great day.

I was so inspired by this photo from ICUFOS...,

.... that Mr. B and I took a drive "up" to Wrightwood CA. It's just a 1/2 hour drive to our local mountains.
The trees aren't in full fall colors just yet. I'm glad they weren't burnt though!
This is a small day use area called Jackson Lake just a few miles from Wrightwood.
