Interesting logic, isn't it? What bolts are going to stop a thief that really wants the plate? Where I live they take a tin snip and cut the registration sticker off of the corner of the plate.

Stupid. What is the rule of thumb in NY? Crooks have wire dikes handy, but not a screwdriver?

Same here in the Philly area of PA. Philadelphia actually had to start giving registration stickers that could be put in the back window similar to the inspection stickers because it was so bad.

What happens if they get caught with a screwdriver ? Do they get screwed?
