Keyfob fix

I ordered a couple of button repair pads from Keylessfix.com. Cheap and they work great!

The HHR does not support 'owner setup'. Not really sure what the rest of your post means........

Yes , what an engineering marvel ? Ours went about 3 years before they started failing . A quick you tube search and learned of the battery holder brackets breaking loose from board . I soldered them back and one worked half way and the other still didn't work . So i bought two of the pads and installed them . Both are working fine except for the remote start . Local locksmith quoted me a price of $89 each to rebuild them . Funny thing to me , my 96' Geo Metro and 73' Dodge Van keys both work EVERY time ! And the batteries never go dead (in the keys) . BTW , our 2006 HHR has around 56,000 miles .

Like I said in the other thread. Ours lasted the entire 7+ years we owner our HHR other than having to change the battery.

Both of my 2009 keyfobs had to be soldered. Would work intermittently. I would tap it on my finger and it would work.

Ebay is a good place to get replacements, for as little as $15.00. I got one for a S10 Blazer that came with program instructions. They are very simple and might work for ours.

Transmitter Programming

1 With the driver door closed, hold down the power unlock button on the door panel.
2 Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3 Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
4 Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
5 Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
6 Release the power unlock button on the door panel. The remote control door lock receiver will respond in the following manner in order to indicate that the receiver is in the programming mode:
Locking the doors
Unlocking the doors
7 Hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter until the remote control door lock receiver will respond in the following manner:
Locking the doors.
Unlocking the doors.
Repeat step 7 for each additional transmitter.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.

Those instructions won't work on an HHR. Your S10 Blazer has a completely different security system.
