Where is anyone purchasing new keyfobs. The buttons are getting very slow to respond-tried new battery-have read about the contact on the pad wearing out.

Much cheaper and you don't need to have it reprogrammed for the car. If you are not into this try your dealer and see what they have to say, if they are decent it may not cost an arm and a leg. Even if you got an eBay one for cheap you will have to have a dealer or locksmith program it for your car.

I got mine from www.keyless-remotes.com then had the dealer program they are new GM glad I did.

 

I came out from work last week and pressed my fob "unlock" button. Nothing. When I got home, I tried the other fob and it worked fine. I wasn't sure if the fob went bad or the battery died in less than 9 months. Doubted that, so I ran over to the local Chevy dealer which was different from the dealer I bought it at. They replaced the fob and said that some soldered joints were bad. New fob, no charge=happy bear. Bear

 

There are instances when the conductive pad on interior side of the button (the surface that contacts the circuit board) wears out. This causes a "delayed" response or you need to keep repeatedly pressing the unlock button to get it to work. I used a small patch of aluminmum foil to cover the worn out pad. Works great.
