some of the people that ride with me on a weekly basis have dubbed this the "god lite" since its just there. They always tell me to make sure I keep my eyes on the road and not to "head into the lite" LOL!

Maybe that's what i did.... I replaced mine with a blue one... but doesnt seem bright enough to see the window controls..... maybe it's a standard one instead of High-Intensity one.... tho..... i dont really need it anymore to reach the controls

Thanks! My first morning in the dark this light

was bugging the hell out of me. I found this forum and once I saw that you cant turn it off I just stopped noticing the light.

It did seem awfully bright the first day though.

It's still a mystery to me, why did Chevy hire THAT engineer, poor design IMHO.

Actually, I heard it was an opps. It was totally neglected in the test mules because they have their own auxillary lighting to do reports, read O/B test equipment, etc. Then nobody payed attention until it was "engineering sample time" and it was to late. May be a rumor, however.

You'd think they would have been able to do the minor re-engineering for the '07 year though......darn companies trying to save a buck!

Like CH I replaced mine with the high intensity blue LED and it is quite a bit brighter than the factory white LED, plus it gives a nice blue glow inside, and the reflction off the chrome is stunning. If I remember correctly, there were two high intensity blue lights, a 3.7 volt and a 5 volt. I got the 3.7.
