Lost and Broken

Lost and Broken

Afternoon,
I have a 2006 HHR my key broke in the ignition and I lost the key.I removed the ignition bought a new one but it doesnt come with a key so lock smith said. He cannot do it. Itried to bypass and " hotwire" Starts doesnt stay onwhat do I do

Did a GM parts department enter your mind? They can make a key from your VIN.

I have not. Buy i watched some video on youtube to hotwire it and i cut the wires off from under the steering column.

The old YouTube has the answer trick.
Cutting wires on a modern car IS NOT recommended.

At least you can reconnect those severed wires reinstall the original ignition switch and get a new key cut.

Has the ignition RECALL been done ? If not, you could possibly still get it done.....FREE.
It would include the ignition switch and 2 new keys.....FREE.
Get the old key cylinder replaced under the old "good will" service......FREE
