well, I guess silver is not my color...

Another 09 2lt is gone.

I'm in the left, guy in a tacoma to my right I'm looking at his rear tire in passenger window when he decided to change lanes.

I bounce of the inside curb and then a hard right to another curb and street sign @ 40 mph. no air bags, but just about every body panel is dinged.

getting 12,900 from Allstate...

been looking around and there are plenty of HHR's out there, just not sure I want to get another one... might be time for a change

Sorry for your HHR loss, what looks like a flesh wound can be very much worse under the car,
Glad you are OK, I'd stay with the HHR just maybe pick another color!

well went at looked at the HHR linked above. looks nice. but the front fenders have sanding scratches and I could see where they did a poor job of taping. so I got under the car and saw OEM parts stickers (you know the paper barcodes they stick on em) counted 5...

so I asked the guy about a car fax. he hemmed and hawed for a moment and pulled it up. front end accident with airbag deployment.

No thank you... he dropped his price from 129 to 10 with no hesitation. but if they can't get a paint job right, should I really expect that they potentially screwed up other stuff in the "rebuild"

I did look at a prius (don't lynch me) and it has the space requirments I need. and Iknow that getting double the milage would help the wallet.

I drive about 20 K a year. mostly commuting but some long distance. so if we assume 24 mpg that 833 miles or about 2900 bucks based on 3.50 a gallon.
take the prius at a conservative 45mpg i'm gonna spend only 1500 a year...

but the prius has no soul. and I'd end up becoming just another commuter jockey in an egg crate...

my other concern. I really like the 2.4 and while I could get the 2.2 all day long not sure i'd be happy with the throttle response...

Sorry about your car I'm glad everyone's ok.
I have a 2.2 auto and a 2.4 manual. I myself can't really feel much difference between the two although the 2.2 is just a little better on fuel mileage. ( that just maybe my driving habits with the manual )

I like the color and interior of the ss and the power increase is a good bonus.

Remember that some insurance co. Have different rates for the ss model cars.
