Low beams too Bright?
Low beams too Bright?
Hey everyone, Hope everyone is doing well and had a Merry Christmas.
My wife and I went to visit our families over Christmas which was our first long road trip in our new HHR which was excelent except for the 112 mile stretch of highway home we got flashed 23 times by oncoming cars at night and only the low beams were on. Brought the car in to the shop this morning to check the alignment and it was fine. Does anyone else have this going on? It was fun at first to flash them back to show that the high beams were'nt on but it got old after awhile. Is this just the price you pay for being able to see well at night?

Could you have had some luggage, or whatever, in the back?? Rear suspension is not stellar, which would account for the front being slightly raised.
I believe, the headlight adjustment standard is 1 person in drivers seat and a 1/2 tank of gas. Anything "above" this might alter the aiming.
I swear I can see better on low beams in our HHR than I could in our Corolla when they were on high beam. I really like being able to see well because there are so many deer and loose cows in our area, but I get tired of being flashed all the time
If you think you can see good now & get flashed, put in the silverstars you will see great. I have them in head & fogs ,love them and i get flashed often.
P.S. there is a post here somewhere that has part # for silverstar's

I've gotten flashed only once but am thrilled with the brightness of the headlights on the HHR. The headlight covers on my minivan had become very clouded. I found a conditioner that will clear them up but it only lasts a few months.
Does anyone know a good way to keep the lense covers from clouding?
