Lube or no

New hubs : are the spindle's left clean and dry, or should I grease her down like the old days.

No spindles to lube, the rear hubs are sealed assemblies, just bolt the new ones on. If you're doing the front hubs, a little grease smeared on the splines of the half shaft will help it slide into the new hub, that's all you need since they are sealed too.
