Exclamation From MPH to KPH?

I found a thread that said that you go through the personalization settings for the car to turn it to KPH. Is this just the distances of trips/total miles traveled, or does this ALSO make the speedometer work as if it was JUST KPH. So if I change it to METRIC, when I'm driving into Canada, the speedometer will work as if I bought the car in Canada where the 30 mark means 30 kph NOT 30 mph and whatever metric conversion THAT is (48 kph) So whenever I drive in Canada, all I have to worry about it changing that setting and it will adjust to kilometers per hour and I will just drive the posted speed limit, not worrying that I'm using a car with MPH that I use at home.

It also changes the speedometer calibration to km/h, the only drawback is that now it tops out at 120 km/h which is roughly 70 mph.

If you haven't already, give this thread a read for more info.

Being a Canuck I have the system set to metric when here in Canada and my speedo does not top out at 70 mph the numbers on the speedo do not change just the calibration of the speedo needle the other readouts show in metric like trip , litres per 100 klms temp gauge in celcius.

He meant that the speedo tops out at 120 kph (roughly 75 mph) when set to metric. If you go faster than that you won't have any indication of your actual speed.

American cluster is different, only goes up to 120, so when you change to km, it tops out at 120km (~70mph), which may not be legal in most of canada, but is pretty common nonetheless

This brings up an interesting question, will a canadian cluster going up to 220, when switched to mph acutally read up that high? hmm....

An interesting thought prod, but with the exception of the one that ran at Bonneville, I don't think anyone will get their HHR up to 220mph.

I did not know the American version of the speedo only went to 120 , that explains it , now to find a steep enough hill to test the 200 MPH theory, I kinda doubt it will go the fast.

I know it's not exactly what you all are talking about, But here is the RPD display on my SS when I did the mph/kph switch. (And a bad edit by me trying to change the k to a m.)

And when you switch it back to Miles the odometer will still be accurate on account of it's computerised (that's how you guys spell computerized, right?).
