DrummerBoy's thread about his LDK build for his SS
https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/hhr-...k-build-56137/ |
I know we love our cars but I highly doubt GM would use a different engine for each platform. The 2.4 in the hhr, cobalt, and sky are nearly identical, so I would assume the 2.0 is. It's pre bailout GM we are talking about here!
|
But we're talking about the 2.0, and its configuration in the HHR SS.
Don't forget the turbo engine has the external second fuel pump! |
Not different engines aradmahogany. They're all the same 2.0 LNF. The difference is between the front wheel drive and rear wheel drive models.
Some of the external parts such as the turbo positioning, manifolds, etc. are going to be different. Especially when dealing with a front wheel drive and it's side-ways engine vs the rear wheel drive and it's inline positioning. I'm sure the same thing applies when comparing the 2.4's in the different model cars. The bare long block of the LNF's are about the same. Same with the 2.4. |
So finding an engine from any of those models and swapping Accessories and manifolds should be sufficient for the op right? He could find a used long block from any of those models
|
Yes a 2.0 long block Ecotec turbo.

But again, like FMG said, it's very unlikely that the turbo survived without oil. So the need to find one with a compatible turbo is important. Here's another option https://www.copart.com/vehicleFinder...ch%22:false%7D

Very possible that they are all the same part. Check the 'what this fits' tab here. We've discussed before how the books are occasionally inaccurate, tho.
