New Here, My HHR is falling apart!
I have a 06 X rental with a 07/04/05 build date it just turned 3 as you can see, A/C has "growling" yea so, 57F in central FL. Never had brake rotors turned, still has same pads & shoes, one door lock switch replaced for no light at 14,732m and a rattle when I 1st took it home that I fixed myself {A/C line out of holder] It now as 51K and that is it for repairs OH had to clean throttle plates at 47,249 miles for a little idle hunting at stops with A/C on in gear. Also I never shut off the A/C just adjust temp control I am a retired GM service tech and it gets serviced buy myself. I have a 94 GMC 3500 with 167,345K 5 sets of front pads & one time rotors turned, one set of rear shoes. both car & truck have brakes cleaned & service at every other oil change You got to have brakes if you drive like me!
I miss my remote start, I don't even know if it works anymore. It's a great little feature, except when gas is over $4 a gallon. If my engine is on, I want the car to moving!
Being gas IS over $4 a gallon, do you think the oil industry would do us all the favor of dropping the 9/10 of a cent thing at the end? It adds insult to injury.

Really a gamble buying any rental car, especially one with 60,000 mi. on it. A lot of people with rental cars just trash the h**l out of them. They might look OK appearance wise, but no telling how they were abused otherwise.
We've had our '06 three years next month with no major problems, other than having the gear shifter changed under warranty.

I gotta say, I looked at HHRs over the past 2-3 weeks and found that many are rentals, and most of the used had more than a few miles on them. I can count the 07s that were under 10k miles on one hand.
As a rule, I stay away from rental vehicles. I know how I treat them, and I consider myself a good guy. I can't imagine what the rest of you heathens do in/with them.

Thanks for everyone's response. Just another tidbit...I bought this car with less than 30k on it and like many said did appear to be very well maintained, in fact the car still LOOKS great.
The dealer has had my car for 5 days now and still hasn't called me to tell me what's wrong. I have called 3 times and each time my service is either on lunch or has left. I DID shop around for dealers and the first one I took it to was even worse. I had a little bit of hope for this dealer since they handled my other repairs promptly and without argument over responsibility. I can't understand why our dealers cannot execute on customer service.
Anyway, looks like I'm going to drive it to 75k when my GMPP runs out and trade it for a new HHR or maybe a Malibu.

When I had the radio flashed in my HHR, the contracted firm somehow triggered messed up Passlock. Took the dealership techs another hour to get it straightened out.
