Knock on wood, I haven't had any issues with mine.

Now the rotors are pretty lousy but I was expecting that after working on my father's '04 Impala and seeing them warped and gouged at 15,000 miles worse than my Jetta with 100,000...

Keep in mind though... 75% of people that come to a product/vendor forum are coming because they have a problem they're looking for answers to... and they actually may only represent 5% of the actual market...

That said... these guys seem to have their finger on the pulse of any common issues.

Real Owner here, close to 60,000 miles in less than 2 years.

No returnable/warranty issues, here!!

AC compressor a little noisy, but no problems.

Brake rotors, still running them, do get a some vibrations, when they heat-up, will be replacing soon, due to mileage!

Dash lights, dim and brighten, at times, but no real problem!

Fun car, good MPG, good room inside, and cool retro looks!!!

Later,
Mark

Mine does this as well, but only during the day when I go from sunny to shady. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to happen (at least I hope )

Just past 2 years old with about 13,000 Mi. on it. Just 3 problems so far:
1. Mirrors falling out of visors. This happened right after we got it. Took about 2 Months to get replacments. Found out later that the Service Advisor had never ordered them, and had left the Dealership.

2. Left rear shock had a small leak and was replaced.

3. Key started sticking: -- Replaced Shifter Assy.

We've had no electrical, brake, or water leak problems to date.
I am expecting the battery to go about any time now though. AAA says 28 Months is about all you can hope for out of a battery in Arizona. And we're getting close. I've lived and driven here for 41 Years now, and I've found their estimate to be pretty much right on!

Pretty sure it is tied to the light sensor, but it happens at wierd times, though.

Other than the sensation of FLASHBACKS or TRIPPING OUT, it really has not caused a problem!!!

Well that does make me feel better. I rarely had warranty issues and in fact never bought an EW. Was thinking about buying one this time but i resent that I may have to. My last few cars were Ford Explorer.Toyota 4 runner/Ford Ranger/Toyota Tacoma/Toyota Avalon Last two went to 100k with no issues. Toyota did replace head gaskets on recall on the Tacoma when it had 80K.
Ford blew ECU at 80K,

I really like this car so far but I hate the notion that it could leave me or the wife stranded as no other car ever has, She won't even drive it until we get the ignition issue fixed.

Well, if your car is "loaded," I'm guessing you probably have the Onstar, huh? That's always a good backup right there...

Mine has left me stranded, but it was during the loose groundwire problem, which as I said, I don't think anybody else has had.
