Initially I found the A-pillar is really thick. When I first got the HHR, I nearly ran over someone because I couldn't see them due to the size of the A-pillar.
turn the dash dimmer all the way to the right for dome light

Simply adjust the side-view mirrors just beyond the point where you could see the side of the car on the inside edge of the mirror. With this setup, you almost completely solve the blind spot problem. To adjust the outside mirrors this way, follow these two steps (This of course, is for vehicles with an inside mirror):

For those times where there is a vehicle present in the other lane that isn’t visible when checking the mirrors, the other vehicle’s position will probably be such that its front is adjacent to your door and you’ll spot it in your peripheral vision as you check the side-view mirror.
this is a proven method of blind spot removal in any vehicle---great advice

      cons

      -hideous fog light covers
      -horrible window switch placement
-body damage for hhr's without running boards

love to see (never gonna happen)
-shove a 5.3 in it (impala ss)
      -roll down tailgate window
-ragtop roof (i.e. vw buses, new jeep liberty)

I don't like that if it is raining just a little, and you still want the window open a little, the water drips down inside the car and usually ends up on the mirror adjuster. I'm sure it'll end up crapping out on me due to this.

I don't like the way the HHR steers in tight situations in a parking lot or making other sharp turns. The steering circle is a wide 41 feet.

Being a big fat guy, I wish it were a bit wider.

I see a lot of you are less than thrilled about the windshield height at stop lights. I guess that's one advantage of being in Wisconsin. The traffic lights are on poles a cross the street. So I don't have to worry about that.

I hate that it's made in Mexico. Wish I could say I bought an "American" Car.

      Jim

Also don't like the lack of armrests (SS) and the fact that the seat should go down @ 3 inches more (I'm 6 foot tall)
Otherwise, I love driving it, ever since I put in the Turbotech swaybar!!!
Removed the rear head rests. My daughter is in a car seat.
Shifter is still too notchy. Fit and finish is sub-par. Last Domestic vehicle I buy. Nervous that my Warrenty may not be good if GM tanks...
Thank God my wife has a HONDA...

I had thought about them before. What kind do you have on yours? And are they easy to install?
