I have two black ones. The fall edition gets called a mini hearse or gangster car. The SS get's called cute. So I guess it must be the front end of the ss that makes it look cute. My wife usually drives the ss instead of her solstice gxp because of the room in the back. She doesn't like the fall edition because it is too loud. Little kids roll up and want to race. They leave her alone in the ss. So the ss must be cute. I have to admit I like the fall edition better and drive it more because it sounds like a hot rod.

I have never gotten 'cute' as a description of the car.
Most people like it, some just don't. Some people can't tell the difference between it and a PT.
I have one buddy who calls it my 'hearse', but he drives an element. So whenever he opens his mouth about my 'hearse', I tell him that not everyone is satisfied with a box!

I get the looks like an old hearst line, the old timey suburban, and you look cute in it,(I'm 58) cute?....well if you say so, I'll take it at this age, along with it looks like a PT. mmmmmmmmmmmmm wrong thing to say there.

I would think that if you put the HHR SS next to its decendent, the 1949 Suburban, because of the size difference, then it is cute. Kinda like a miniature of the original.

I saw one of these around town a few days ago. I was out running some errands for my wife and I pulled up next to it at a stop light. I was so busy comparing them that I didn't notice the light change. I let him get ahead of me and I pulled in behind him. I followed him for a little while until he pulled into a gas station and I followed suit. We started talking about our cars and lost track of time until my wife called wondering where I was at.
I should have taken pics of the two of them next to each other but I didn't have my camera with me. Every since that day, I've carried it with me just in case we run into one another again
