This salvage yard has a parts store attached to it, stocked with salvaged parts. So I called them up cuz they got some for between 35 and 50 dollars online. The fella asked for the part number off mine. So I went to try to find it, and I don't know what I should and shouldn't touch or take out. How do you pull the PCM out and look at the number??
YOU WILL STILL NEED TO GET IT PROGRAMMED TO YOUR VIN AND CALIBRATE THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR.

How can I find a shop to do the crank shaft relearn?
I saw some directions for diy without a scan tool. Or, how about diy with the parts store's scan tool?
I've started giving the electrical system a look over and clean up connections and tighten things like the fuse box and grounds... The code P0606 has settled down and is gone...for now. (The weather has been cooler too and I've been staying in the shade when possible.) The AC...seems like it's working, though I can't quite tellintermittently.
- I don't assume these issues are connected.

You can check the wires , your eyes are your best friend. But, the code means internal fault/processor performance. I.E.: dead computer.
Check on ebay there used to be a couple of vendors selling used ECMs programmed to your VIN for around $120. You do need to have the crankshaft relearned.
Once you get the new one it is just plug n' play, then you will probably get a code for no crankshaft data. Shops with a computer like a Tech2 can do it.
There is a place on ebay that will program a ECM that you provide for around $50. Worth investigating.

Are these the only numbers that matter when it comes to compatibility? Or, do I need to remove my existing ECM and read a number off a sticker too?

2. Get a shop to do the crankshaft relearn with scan tool. With the replacement ECM plugged in, and after the security key procedure, is it safe to drive the vehicle to a shop to get the crankshaft relearned? How long and safe is it to drive before that crankshaft relearn?

Another member recently posted that "arestechnologies.com" was able to program a ECM to their VIN and deleted the crank relearn.
The relearn is not crucial except for the annoying CEL. The one I got did not need the key relearn.
