Potential HHR owner
Potential HHR owner
Hey Folks!
I've got my eye on a used 2007 HHR LS and would appreciate some feedback. I took a test drive today(approx. 30 minutes) and really was pleasantly surprised with the driving dynamics of this HHR. I had a PT cruiser years ago and this HHR is light years ahead of the Chrysler.
The vehicle I'm considering is:
2007 LS
41,200 miles
5-speed Manual
A/C, Cruise, P/W, P/L, AM/FM CD
Ford dealer says $7900 is bottom line number. I sure would like to pay $6500. I rate the vehicle an 8 on a scale of 1 to 10(10 being brand new). Thoughts?
Finally, If I come to terms on this vehicle, I want to do some kind of bodyside decal such as this:

Are there other "Bel Air" graphics that are larger in size for the HHR?
Thanks in advance.

I am sure that there is some wiggle room in that price, not sure that there is that much. Go over it with a fine tooth comb. Tires, no curb marks on the wheel covers, no stains on the interior, paint issues, door dings etc. Let them know you are serious, but maybe $7200. Todd (Uma)
I own a 2007 LS HHR, That was used ude to be a rental. It the bare bones LS model A/C, PWD, AM/FM/CD. It had 10,000 miles on it. Love it when i bought and 57,000 miles and a few mods later, Still love it.
I have a 2007 HHR 1LT and I bought it used just a few months ago in February. It was a one-owner personal vehicle (not a rental like many) with just over 91,000 miles. I paid $6,975 for it, which considering the miles, is a very decent price. Since the one you're looking at only has around 40,000 miles, I'd say that you're getting a pretty decent price too. Maybe you might be able to knock it down to $7,000-$7,500. Just be sure to do a Carfax or Autocheck or whatever. The price could be that low because of previous accidents or a brand on the title. When I was looking around, a lot of the "low price" HHRs had 2-3 accidents on the Carfax. I also took my HHR into a garage for a full inspection before I bought it, and they told me that it needed a new O2/oxygen sensor. So I went back to the dealership and they agreed to fix it if I bought the car. That way, if you know something needs to be done on it, you can sort of "deal with the dealer" in order to get the most out of your money. You can never be too cautious buying a used car. You don't want to end up with a piece of junk car that constantly needs repairs later on.
Most of the used HHR's on dealer lots around here are former rentals. Go to dealer's web sites in your area and search for used HHR's. Many have a free Carfax request link that will tell you the car's history. I don't know if the deals are better for former rentals because I've bought new cars for years.
