Radio/USB/BlueTooth Firmware upgrade

Since installing iPhone iOS 7 the usb in the radio doesn't recognize the iphone. Any ideas to solve this? What about firmware upgrades?

Nope, it's an Apple problem (if it used to work and now doesn't after the upgrade). Others are having the same issues. The usb is dodgy at best as others have found out with usb memory sticks.

Have you given Bluetooth a try? Works great.

After reading this I had to try mine.

It worked? my iPhone 4GS iOS7 USB

I find when my USB stops recognizing what plugs into it. I have to find something that works then replug what it didnt
recognize and it will be fine for a few years.

So try to find someone with a iPhone iOS6 plug it in let it
recognize it. Then plug yours in to see if it will work?

iOS 7 requires using an Apple-certified charging cable. Make sure you've got one with the authentication chip in it.

Hello DrBobDC,

Talia is correct. According to some research I conducted a few weeks ago about the upgrade. Apple requires that you keep the cord plugged into the usb port. I hope this works for you.

You guys are the best,

Really? I just recently got an iPhone 5S, and I've been using the cable that came with it to plug into my Chevy HHR, and it doesn't charge or recognize anything being plugged into the USB port. And yes, it's the Apple certified cable that came with the phone. The Bluetooth works, but I've only been able to ever make calls or use Siri over Bluetooth, never listen to music.

I know nothing about iPhone, but Android has a setting for sound output. To listen to music it must be connected for "media" and "phone". Normally the first device to connect to a BT device gets the media and phone, the second device gets phone only. I am guessing there is a setting somewhere in either the iPhone or the radio, check in the BT settings.

I also have heard that iOS7 has a lot of trouble connecting to a lot of devices.

Oh, and not all BT adapters are compatible with "media" or "phone" or "data" etc. Oddly enough you can't say "BT is BT" there are several flavors that need to be matched.
