It was an issue with 06 models, maybe some early 07's.

So I pulled the cowl off my wife's 2008 which we purchased new. The stick on cover that fails was never installed from the factory!!!!

This was a 2006 model year problem. 2008 doesn't need it

Yes, that happened previously and i had the motor replaced in July. It leaked only once after that but since then it hasn't. I do hear water sloshing around when i step on the gas after being stopped. I am guessing that is coming from the radiator?

Sounds like from your discription that the condensate water from the A/C is not draining. Many good threads on this subject, easy fix.

If the sloshing is coming from behind the radio it means you are low on coolant.
The AC condensate pan is under/behind the radio and usually leaks to the passenger side if the drain out the firewall is clogged.
