Well it finally did work (after so long)
Turns out the remote's button contacts were worn out. I ordered a new remote and put the original, programmed board in the new case and everything works exactly like it should. Even the remote start.

Thanks for the help,
Allen P

Great , it’s fixed! Enjoy the ride!
So, cleaning the contacts didn’t fix it as you reported a year ago Oct 2020

Gotta search on these things! I had the same issue when I bought mine a few weeks ago and posted the results: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gene...84/#post915100

This forum will save you a lot of money and grief by using the search function or even searching via Google. I was able to fix the airbag light, the sun visor and a few other things for free using this forum and saved hundreds in labor on doing many of the simple things like shock and struts myself. The airbag light alone saved me $500 because I used it to bargain down the price of the car when I bought it - thinking back I probably could have gone even more of a discount.

Airbag Light 🤔🤔
Do you mean the service airbag message in the DIC?
I also have it displaying. What did you do?

It did work for a while, but it eventually reverted back to its cursed state

Yup, like OldBlue recommended, clean ALL the contacts on the yellow connector in the kick board with electronics cleaner, spray dielectric grease liberally on the contacts and that fixed the problem. To further reduce any resistance, I did the same to the contacts under the seat. Been a month and the light hasn't come back on. If it does, then I obviously will clean the contacts again since it's easy to do and a heckuva lot cheaper than letting the dealership fix it.

Of course, since you are in Nigeria, you should check to see if the airbags are still installed. They get stolen before getting exported.

The other appears to be correct, but the last 2 digits of the part number are not readable. The battery part number is there on the back of this one also. Get your 2032 battery and try this fob. If it works, great.

If it doesn't, you'll have to reprogram the vehicle to accept this fob. Donbrew has provided the only ways to do this.

If the other fob doesn't work(not sure which battery this one needs), you can try reprogramming for it also. If it costs extra, I wouldn't. The Dorman module donbrew mentioned works for 3 sessions, I think, so it wouldn't cost more to try.

Beware, sometimes people will use these 3 sessions, then return it for a refund. Then you get a module that doesn't work at all.

There are threads here about the Dorman product. It worked perfectly for me on a GM fob. Less than perfect with aftermarket fob.
If it doesn't, you'll have to reprogram the vehicle to accept this fob. Donbrew has provided the only ways to do this.

The above is from RJ RS. Can you or Donbrew tell me how to do this? Please and Thank you

Programming the key fob (a new or used one) requires either a Tech2 scanner or that Dorman code tool. As is mentioned in the quote you posted.
