rev limeter
do the hhr's with a 2.4 have rev limiter's or governer's. I have a 2007 lt with a 2.4 and I was just playing around the other day revving the engine just listening to the sound, and it would't rev over 4000 rpm's is this how it's supposed to be. does anyone know. thanks btw this is my first post.
Don't know about a rev limiter, but it does have a speed gov. Will only let you get to 110, however, if you go into "I" drive, it bypasses the gov. Hard on the economy, but you can achieve higher speeds.
On the 2.4's w/ auto, normal rev limiter is set to 6,750 in gear and 4,000 in P/N. It's done via fuel cutoff and the electronic thottle.
Speed is governed at 108.
Both can be "fixed".
Not sure about the 2.2 much. I think rev limiter is set to 6,500 and likely has a similar setting for lower P/N.
