Rough ride on front end, noisy banging on highway strips

I have 2006 HHR LS and seems to be getting rough ride in front end. Making loud noises also.
I just got rid of the original tire and put on some michlins. Presumably for the good ride. Not much better than originals. I now have changed to winter stock rims and goodyear utra ice grip tires. Somewhat quieter, but not that much.
Anyone having same type of troubles.
Kind of makes a person want to get rid of this vehicle for something else here with a better ride.
I have been looking into that. Can't get much for the ole HHR, so want to keep it, as only have 38,000 miles on it.

What happened-looks like you joined in 07 and this is your 1st post?

Anyway-Welcome and continue to enjoy your ride. Certain tires make more noise than others-especially snow tires. Make sure your tires are at the correct pressure & balanced properly. Hopefully this being your 1st post means you have been trouble free.

Again WELCOME
