Anyone else's exhaust system unusually rusty? My 2007's pipes are extremely rusty. I expect a certain amount of rust living in NY, but the pipes on mine almost look rusted through...does the 3yr 36k warranty cover rusted through exhaust pipes? I'm assuming that if it was covered, they would have to rust completely through in order for GM to replace them. My muffler and cat. conv. are fine.... Just thought that I would ask.

Are you absolutely certain it is rust and not baked on road grime? Try cleaning a small section with a 3M pad.

By federal law your catalytic converter is covered...i think for 80,000 miles.

Factory exhaust may be stailess but it is a low grade and will get surface rust in harsh climates.

My exhaust on my GMC had this for 10 years and never failed. This is not a warranty issue.
