service airbag warning light

OK, yesterday while the rest of the Midwest was getting blasted by a winter storm, here in western Michigan it was fairly quiet. On my way home I was playing around a bit and punched it in a few corners (this is the SS). Anyway, every time I punched it, the service airbag message would come up in the display accompanied by the orange airbag idiot light. After some straight line cruising everything would go off (no lights or warnings)
This happened 3 different times yesterday, but today driving much less spirited no warning or lights.

My question is: If I take it to the dealer, will they be able to read a code for that, or are they going to say "problem not found"?

when the service light comes on it shoud set a code in memory. but that is a strange one. I would stop by the dealer and have them check the codes.

I was thinking that as well, but wanted to make sure that there is some code stored on the air bag message before I wasted everyone's time.

It could be wiring at the passenger seat or the fuse box under the hood. When you get on the throttle it could be moving the wire. A code will be stored in history. Be sure and tell the dealer the circumstances that cause it to come on!

The codes don't always get stored in the memory. We had a truck in that was doing something that sounded like the same thing. No code and couldn't get it to do it again here. Truck left with no problem found. Make sure to be prepared to tell them what you were doing when the lights came on so they can maybe reproduce the situation.

Since they installed the "kit", they shouldn't be surprised
