So im reading that a bunch of has had this problem, seems to always be something different for everyone.. Went through a lot of pics and was adding parts to my cart on RockAuto... My lca are black (the ebay ones), the are silver/grey in members pics and silver/grey on RockAuto...

So now im wondering if I fail victim to one of those "fits many cars" but not really fitting the hhr....

I don't know how often we have to repeat it - the HHR Lower Control Arms are the cast silver ones!!! The Stamped black steel ones are Cobalt issues - they may fit, but they are not HHR-Correct.

Not necessarily - I don't think anyone has actually said one way or the other if they actually are a correct "fit" or not. The advice we have to give here is: "use the correct approved part" - anything else you use at your own risk.

That being said................. I'd change them out, even if they may not be related to your current issues.

The other day Oldblue said that the stamped steel LCA goes on Cobalts with 4 wheel lugs I.E.: lighter cars. The HHR is a half ton truck.

For sure, im taking blame on this one, this is one of the few parts i just bought on ebay cause it was cheaper, you live and learn. Plus ill be honest, i figured they were powder coated over the steel when he said stamped steel; not realizing stamped steel meant black etc.

I now have the Moog RK620898 and RK620897 for my lower control arms, gonna switch those before i do anything else

I don't know what you think powder coat means, but the black seems to be powder coated.

On Ebay the Moog branded LCA is selling for the same price as the "cheap Chinese" brand. H'mmmm
