I wish they had the readout for what gear they are in on the dask. Hard to see at night and I don't always remember to count.

I just saw Slide Rights shifter mod and it seems easy to me now. A simple sleeve I can use the setscrew to index in a slot and have a plunger and push down on the handle to activate the reverse lockout. I might still decide to do a pivot with the double ring for the lockout.

I followed slide’s idea for the shifter, I used a bolt to push down to release the shift select lock.

I must say that would be a good anti theft measure. Push down on the shifter to go.

Now that the voices in my head have thought about it I've figured out how to do it. I'll make a sleeve tube and attach the double ring solidly to it. Then attach the handle to a bolt/plunger that fits inside the tube with a setscrew and slot with an extra spring. When I need to shift I can squeeze the handle down to engage the interlock. It will look like a Hurst race shifter. Once I get done with the body and suspension I'm on this like a bad smell!!!

I got the Pleather skirt down but don't see how to remove the handle. The older ones had a setscrew on the back.

I found this and decided to give it a try. If I don't like it I can always get on fabbing the Hurst.

I would love to have a Hurst shift handle on my automatic shifter.

A sleeve tube secured to the stock tube with the finger rings secured to it and a bolt screwed into the handle turned down on the end to act as a plunger for the bypass. Have a spring to push against and a slot and setscrew to index the handle. You would push the handle down for the shifter bypass or squeeze the handle using the rings.
