mine is the 2.2 I usually shift at 3k unless a ricer is trying to show me that the $300.00 wing in the back gave him an extra 10 hp then I redline it!

im sorta in that same boat. from a v6 to a 4 banger was kinda lame.
but in the truck id try to keep it at 2 for gas reasons lol.

but for the hhr. i still keep it at 2 and half when taking off. but yes around 4 i hear that whistle i love it

but it still couldnt beat the sound of my truck hhaha.
its more of a beast!

Driving a 2.4 auto and being easy on the go pedal, it will shift around 2000 rpm. Being heavy on the go pedal, it will shift at ~6000-6500 rpm.

My shift points can vary because of traffic conditions but mostly they're 3000,3000,2600 and 2400 rpm.If traffic is denser I drop the points to 2500,2500,2200,2000.

I tend to be fairly conservative with my 2.2. I usually shift at about 2500rpm, but is really just getting a feel for it more than anything. Even the 2.2 is capable of moving fairly well, but it does need to be wound up more than a V8 does. Traffic patterns also have a lot to do with those shift points.
