should I trade my LT for ss or keep it

I'm in dilema deciding if I should keep my LT and pay off the loan or trade it in for 08 or 09 ss model. I only have 1.5 yr left or should I trade it in and be upside down w/1k or 2k. Right now my car is value at $5,925(kbb) and $6,675(nada) and the car is a good condition. No rust or no dents, high mileage(68K), cd/radio interface is cracked but i have kenwood db din cd player(not install yet) and carpet/driver seat is most like dirty but everything else is clean and wiper blade in the back needs replace. I think that everything I can think of but hope to hear some feedback.

An SS is nice but paid off is better! Clean the seat put a wiper blade on the back and keep it.

I agree, keep it and get it paid off. at that point you have more money to tweak the car to your liking. If you get the bigger car note you will not like the car as much because it is draining your wallet. Plus if you are putting on that many miles you will suck any other residual value right out of SS.

Keep it and pay it off. Run it into the ground. When you pay it off, bank the amount of the payment every month. Plus, you'll have the money available for unforeseen emergencies. Then when you are truly ready to replace it, you'll have a substantial down payment and a low car payment. Or, if you buy used, you may be able to buy a car out right. I've bought 3 used cars in cash. Its the sweetest feeling in the world. Unfortunately I had to take a loan for the HHR, but we had a nice down payment.

Thanks guys for the input and thoughts! Also the more I thought about it, the more it made sense to keep the car and finished the payment. One less payment I have to deal with.

I beg to differ with the other guys.

Get an SS.

You only have one life to live.

Depends on your goals, if you keep yours and can save cash you can put a forced induction kit on it and fix it up. But on the other hand you could buy a SS and have it all done and a warranty to boot.

I'm almost in the same boat as you, should i keep my LS or get a SS. I'm not happy with what they were giving me on trade in so i'm going to try and sell the LS. for more, then i will get a SS.

Have you driven a SS? I drove both an automatic and a 5 speed, and i'm sold!!! The SS is a wicked ride and the thought of a stage one kit for some extra hp and factory warranty is a great option. So does anyone want a low mile LS...

It depends on what's important to you. There's definitely something really nice about not having a payment. I've driven both and there really is a huge difference in performance. For me having the best driving experience possible is important. No sense creating financial pressure just for a car either.
