How about the auto insurance ?? Any diff from LT to SS ?

I have to think it is at least a bit more in premiums. But school me if I'm wrong.

I traded in my 07 2LT with 16,000 miles on it back in April for an 09 SS. As much as I love the SS, I should not have done it. This was when GM announced no more SS's and we had one left so I jumped on it.I told the dealer I work at that I would only buy it if they gave me the exact payoff of my car so I would not owe anymore in the new payment......they told me it they would. But they screwed me. They were supposed to payoff $13,000 but only did $10,000 and put the other $3,000 into my new payments. They lied to me and I only found after the fact when I actually read the paperwork carefully. They tried to keep it hush-hush. Then they sold my trade in for $17,000. Ive been working for Chevy for 23 years and didnt see it coming as I REALLY wanted the SS.I wound up quitting(For other reasons, namely GM was on the verge of going out of business then) after working there for many years and work at our Acura store across the street. Dont be upside down in a payment......it's just not worth it. I will never do that again.

I say pay it off and put what you are paying now or what you would be expecting to pay a month on the SS in the bank. Then in a year or two find a good used one and but down a nice down payment and have a nice low payment that you could pay off quick.

I dont think it is that much of a difference, my insurance is fairly cheap.
but seriously, the only way to buy the SS is like i said 1 to 2k upsidedown you need 0% financing to make it up.

if you were in a vehicle getting 15mpg, then maybe i would pull the trigger. but not going from an lt. to an ss.

My Insurance from my previous 1998 Chevy S-10 (base model), to my 08 Panel 2LT only increased $44. more, for the year ...

I had to double check on this prior to my purchase. My Ins Co. said the HHR was much safer & has the ABS, side bags & etc...

At any rate, I was happily surprised & currently enjoying my 2LT...

gmdealerguy-

That's lousy you got screwed how you did..Bummer..
