I think HHR's are quiet, really quiet, but any noise issues can be dealt with easily. I use AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The James Gang, Mountain, The Rolling Stones, or Dire Straits without adding any weight other than the i-Pod.

ZZ Top does a really good job and a CD weighs less than an iPod.

With the HP I have it helps keep it glued to the road

Just checked the actual weight for the 200sf I installed, was only about 60lbs not 90 as I stated before my error

Beware when using sound deadener....it will seem to pick up more wind noise around windows and think your seals are going bad when all along it was always there, but with the added noise before deadener it wasnt as noticable, Deadener works. My headliner never lets me know its there...soundproofing wont cure that, mounting will. Thats with both my cars.
Only reason to deaden roof is for vibration and sound resonation...in other words, competition cars.
Daily drivers isnt really noticable unless your trying to blow the windows out,,just added expense and weight.

Actually I have no noise, other then the hum of the exhaust and a slite rattle in the passenger side upper seat belt inwhich will be taken care of this week, when I installed the product I put it over all items that could have made a rattle, its quiet love the finished product

Good job Rainman. And a great project to tackle. I'd like to do the trunk and rear floor area one of these days when it warms up around here and stops raining.

Re: comment about the added weight by doing the roof.... so the added 20 or 30 lbs max. is something you are ever going to notice? Not at all likely on any street car.

I think they did something to the 2011 because it is quieter than the 08 i had the Firestone tires how ever suck and are very loud so maybe that's a part of the noise issue but as far as out side noise it don't come in near as bad as the 08 the Michelin pilot exalto a/s tire works wonderful for the car they are high performance so it will turn your HHR in to a hot rod LOL and quiet http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=Sport%20Wagon

I never thought of my moderate hearing loss as an advantage, but now I guess I do....

If anything, I need noise deadener against the firewall. That 2.4 is the noisiest engine I have had since my `94 Monte Carlo.
