Has anyone tried using melamine foam?
It's supposed to be very light and does both sound and temperature.

Funny how much I can confirm this. My 2011 LS is much quieter than my 2008 LS was. The Firestones were horribly noisy but mercifully short-lived tires. Michelins are just so darn reliably satisfying, start quiet and stay that way, and seem to last longer than expected.
